Educational Objectives
The primary educational objective for the Court Reporting Institute of Louisiana is to educate students, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies in the field of court reporting.
Our students become well-informed, well-developed professionals, drawing on a broad knowledge of the various fields they encounter in the work place, including legal, medical, technical, English and vocabulary skills for producing accurate transcripts. Students utilize state-of-the-art computer software programs for court reporters (e.g. Case CATalyst, Eclipse, Digital CAT), enabling them to achieve concentration skills, accuracy, and productivity.
Upon graduation, our court reporting students will have attained an education with a high level of integrity, fully prepared for the required Louisiana Certified Court Reporter's Examination (CCR) or the National Court Reporters Association's Registered Professional Reporters Examination (RPR). This education will afford them opportunities to pursue many fields, including official court reporting, freelance court reporting, webcasting, cyber-conferencing, working as scopists, closed-captioning for television, as well as, working for the support of deaf and hearing-impaired students in high schools, colleges, etc.
